EXPAND YOUR HOUSE INSTEAD Of MOVINGSolar Thermal technologies, Solar Panel Collectors, Grid tie inverter, free energy, Heat Pipes, lower carbon footprint, cylinders, Solargreenpower

'After searching in vain to find a suitable house for our growing family’s needs in Prestbury, we decided to stay in our existing house and extend it to suit our present and future requirements. Our priorities were twofold, more usable living space, and to reduce our carbon footprint significantly. We deduced a solar hot water heating system, would make a “large” contribution.

We had heard of Solargreenpower, and after reading their website we contacted them to advise us of the best way to proceed.

We were delighted to learn that in addition to the Solar Collectors on the roof they were able to install a large 300litre mains pressure H.W. storage Cylinder in our existing airing cupboard, which meant we could remove our energy hungry electric showers and have “full flow” mains pressure hot water showers instead.

Our Solar installation consists of a 50 Tube Array of 58mm vacuum evacuated tubes on our S.W. facing front roof, which heats the 300 litre tank in the airing cupboard, and it works well even on cold days in winter. We also had an additional H.W. /C.W. mixing valve fitted to the H.W. cylinder outlet. Thus we can safely store water up to 75C in summer, effectively increasing our storage capacity even further so we don’t need sun every day.

The system is controlled by a Resol solar controller which gives temperature indication, and measures kW/hrs. We requested that the controller be sited in our downstairs cloakroom as opposed to the airing cupboard, and Solargreenpower were more than happy to accommodate. Solargreenpower were also able to convert our open vented central heating system to a closed system with expansion vessel and safety valve, so now there are no tanks at all in the loft allowing a big increase in storage space (yet another bonus).

Solargreenpower.co.uk did a first class job to our complete satisfaction. So far the system has exceeded our expectations and early signs are it will deliver 90% plus of our hot water needs for the 8 months April to October.'

NEW BOILER & SOLAR HEATINGSolar Thermal technologies, Solar Panel Collectors, Grid tie inverter, free energy, Heat Pipes, lower carbon footprint, cylinders, Solargreenpower

'Whilst my husband was away on business, our 25 + year old boiler broke down and I contacted Solargreenpower and asked if they could help. The boiler was so old that they could not obtain spares and could only do a temporary repair. We were already considering upgrading the boiler and had already received some quotes so I asked Solargreenpower to make an appointment to see my husband upon his return.

Solargreenpower is a local company with a 28 year history. They gave my husband a site visit to see an installation locally and explained the benefits of having a solar hot water heating installation. They then quoted for renewing our central heating boiler including solar panels together with a fully insulated purpose designed stainless steel Solar Hot Water Cylinder (for mains pressure powerful showers). We were happy to accept their very competitive quote as they easily beat the boiler quotes we had already received and it only required a nominal increase to the other quotes to include Solar heating.

Our system consists of, a 300 litre factory insulated mains pressure solar storage cylinder complete with solar heating coil, central heating top up coil and two immersion heaters (just in case), and a HW mixing valve so we don’t need sunshine every day. The 40 evacuated tube panel is on our south facing roof. The system is controlled by a solar controller and we are delighted with the installation, the free hot water, and the greatly reduced gas bill which we initially monitored every day. There is a tremendous “sense of elation” every time we have a nice hot shower knowing it is “Free” , and that we have reduced our carbon footprint by not using any gas to heat the water!!!

The installation was very professional, with minimum disruption to our daily routine, my husband is a professional engineer himself and he is absolutely delighted with the installation.

We would recommend Solargreenpower.co.uk without hesitation.'

PREPARATION FOR THE FUTURESolar Thermal technologies, Solar Panel Collectors, Grid tie inverter, free energy, Heat Pipes, lower carbon footprint, cylinders, Solargreenpower

With retirement approaching we decided to upgrade the bathroom and re-roof our semi detached home which we have lived in for most of our married life. We have always suffered from inadequate hot water storage capacity, and having read about the new advances in solar heating technology, we contacted Solargreenpower.co.uk.

As well as our new bathroom we also have a 30 tube evacuated solar heat pipe collector panel on our SSW facing roof, and a factory insulated 210 litre mains pressure solar storage cylinder and solar controller. Our central heating boiler tops up the hot water if required and we also have an electric immersion heater as well.

We are absolutely delighted because the system works so well. Solargreenpower were very efficient in the installation, “it couldn’t have been better if I had done it myself”. We have not had a very good summer this year but even so we have a tank-full of hot water whenever the sun shines, even when it doesn’t our water only requires a little boost from our boiler to bring it up to temperature.'

“We have more hot water and the boiler hardly ever comes on”

INVESTING IN OUR CHILDRENS FUTURE

Solar Thermal technologies, Solar Panel Collectors, Grid tie inverter, free energy, Heat Pipes, lower carbon footprint, cylinders, Solargreenpower'Investing in “Solar Thermal Water Heating” was something we were drawn to for both financial and environmental reasons. We wanted to do our bit for the environment, invest in the value of our property as well as updating our hot water installation.

Before we found “SOLARGREENPOWER”, we had thoroughly investigated alternative installation companies. They seemed very expensive, and were being promoted by salesmen looking to clinch a deal, rather than engineers who knew what they were talking about.

We have been hugely impressed by “SOLARGREENPOWER”. Initial consultations were informative and not at all pressured. The installation price was competitive, and the installation was smooth, thoughtful, and to our complete satisfaction.

Our system consists of, a 300 litre factory insulated mains pressure solar storage cylinder complete with solar heating coil, central heating top up coil and two emersion heaters(just in case). This cylinder is located in a corner of the garage, freeing up precious internal space. It is heated by an antifreeze circuit which circulates environmentally safe Tyfocor antifreeze through the manifolds of two 20Tube evacuated heat pipe solar collectors located on the rear south facing roof of our house. The system is controlled by a solar controller and we are delighted with the installation, the free hot water, and the fact that we now do have a lower carbon footprint.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Solargreenpower.co.uk.'

TIME FOR A NEW DIRECTION

Solar Thermal technologies, Solar Panel Collectors, Grid tie inverter, free energy, Heat Pipes, lower carbon footprint, cylinders, Solargreenpower'In February 2007 we had a 30tube Evacuated tube heat pipe solar collector mounted on our SW facing roof. As the leaves appeared on the trees we realised that the shading factor from a large tree in the front garden, and the house opposite at the low sun angles of November to Feb were quite significant, and to ensure we had adequate solar collection area we had a second 20tube Evacuated tube heat pipe solar collector mounted on our SE facing roof.

These two panels heat a 300L factory insulated mains pressure stainless steel solar cylinder which is located in a corner of our garage. The solar system pre-heats the water as it enters the bottom of the cylinder, and goes on heating it as long as the sun shines, even when it doesn’t the solar radiation that passes through the clouds is collected and converted to hot water. Our system is fitted with heat a meter which measures the heat collected in kWhrs. We have had a very poor summer, but even so our heat collection has been between 3kWhrs and 31kWhrs/ Day. Depending on the weather conditions.'

MODERNISE YOUR GREATEST ASSETT

'We recently embarked on the total refurbishment of a large Edwardian house, incorporating Solar water heating for both the swimming pool and the domestic hot water service. We contacted Solargreenpower.co.uk. To supply & install the systems.

Our swimming pool is heated by Three 30 tube evacuated solar heat pipe collectors via a stainless steel heat exchanger, and controller. Residual heat is also used to heat the under-floor heating system in the kitchen/family area at the rear of the house.

Our domestic hot water system consists of a factory insulated 250 litre mains pressure solar storage cylinder which is heated by a 20 & a 30 Tube evacuated solar heat pipe roof mounted collectors, a solar circuit and controller, excess heat can be utilized to supplement the under-floor heating systems.

From the outset Solargreenpower.co.uk were extremely helpful in their design of the systems, which we estimate fulfil 70% of our water heating requirements, and 90% of our swimming pool heating requirements. In addition Solargreenpower.co.uk carried out a first class installation, on time, and to our complete satisfaction.'
